The animal shelter from which I got Midnight, the dog that inspired a very important character in my novel, The Last Disruptor, is celebrating 22 years of rescuing dogs with a virtual run next month and I’ve signed up and so can you.
But, just like the run, you gotta get moving. Check out details here: High Sierra Animal Rescue Run for Rescues.
The 22-mile run starts on June 5 and ends on June 27. I know there are some of you out there that can do this in one shot, and so you know, there are prized for finishing it the fastest. But for the rest of us chuggers, we’ll need those 22 days. I did a virtual race across Nevada last year and it was a blast. That one was a little more tech savvy and there was a map that kept track of where you were while crossing the state. Because this is a race for the dogs, and thus more a metaphysical exercise, (yeah, I went there) there’s no map to track where you’re going to or even from except the one you make. You post your results to a form once you finish the mileage. So do what you must to keep interest.
So here’s why I’m running it. His name is Midnight and he’s awesome. I mean just look at him.

Anyway, this is a great event, because you can do it anywhere in the world. So you folks in other states get on board and get running. I’m not sure about participating from another country, but I don’t see why not. I’m just not sure about the exchange rate.
Anyway, I’ll keep you updated on my progress. I hope to get my 22 in before 22 days, but I do work.
Keep running, keep writing.
