My kid is growing so fast these days that we get him shoes about every half year. Because he’s been running more, I decided to check out the local running store for deals on last year’s shoes. So we headed over to Eclipse Running, now part of the Reno Running Co. and tried out some shoes.
Truth be told, I wanted to see if I could score a deal for myself as well. I need some lighter weight trainers and the ones I’m using just don’t give me enough cushion.
My son, after a few tries, found a pair of Hoka One One’s he really liked. I got a pair of Ghost 12’s. After I got mine on and was jogging around a bit, he walks up to me with his Hoka’s and says, “Let’s see how fast we can go in them!” And then he rocketed across the store. That kid just makes my spirit soar.
Really, it’s this kind of pleasure and love for life that makes me love running and writing and I’m glad I get to share both with him, because he’s generally one of the earliest readers of my stories.
And speaking of soaring, I got a nice lift from someone who read The Last Disruptor. My sci fi novel about a boy named Crate who tells stories that come true on an Earth in another dimension. Crate and his friends must go to that other planet and see if they stop it from colliding with their own.
Anyway, got some good feedback from a reader who asked, “When’s the next one? What happens next?”
Both good questions. I will say this, I got plans for another few novels related to Disruptors and the Absurd. But right now, I’m wrapping up some edits on a short novel about dragons, unicorns and beating the odds.
Keep running, keep writing.
Good post! Enjoyed the shoe shopping story and the plans for additional books.

Thanks. Yes I have some things roughed out but dragons come first. One should never leave a dragon waiting, after all.
